Job Description

Supervision of all quality assurance functions. Implementation, development, audit and maintenance of plant's quality and food safety systems including HACCP to assure compliance and customer satisfaction. Technical supervision of quality assurance and sanitation personnel, provide training and assistance in order to maintain technical expertise. Provide technical support/resource for customers, production and other plant's department. Interface for local/regional regulatory inspections.

Here's what you'll do:

Quality and Food Safety

Development, implementation, and maintenance of all applicable elements of the Pom Wonderful Quality and Food Safety systems in order to assure compliance.

Technical Assistance

Responsible for providing technical assistance to operations and customers to aid in achieving product quality, sterility or investigating consumer complaints.

Floor Presence

QA Beverage supervisor is expected to spend around 50% or more time on the production floor working with quality, sanitation, and operations teams to proactively identify potential quality related defects. Floor presence will also be critical for Root Cause Analysis and troubleshooting of ongoing quality defects. In addition, the individual will be involved in hands on monitoring of the sanitation release, validations, batch approvals, pre forms and bottling reviews, extraction fruit quality inspections, monitoring storage time and temperature of juices, ingredient inspections and filler quality checks.

Teamwork

Promote communication, involve staff and employees, support staff, communicate objectives and develop employee potential. Foster an environment that is focused on the key pillars of strategic Wonderful initiatives and disciplined approach to key departmental objectives. Lead the Level 3 FMDS boards with the PCs 3 times a week and actively engage participants to make the meetings engaging and objective. Participate in daily production FMDS meetings on first and second shift and constantly seek feedback from operations to provide highest customer service to operations team and other internal customers. Hold Bi-weekly meetings with leads and operation supervisors to go over key QA KPIs and follow up action items.

Data generation, analysis and recordkeeping

Responsible for maintaining processing records that will allow for product, packaging, and ingredient recall. Assure accuracy of data generated from production and quality teams by overseeing the process and knowing firsthand the operating parameters. Routinely analyzing data to make meaningful conclusions and form recommendations based on solid data analysis. Constantly validating the use of all data generated from the tests that are performed on the floor, question the needs for all the analysis and maintain a most efficient testing program.

Restricted Stock

Responsible for isolating finished product, ingredients, or packaging materials that do not meet standards and providing disposition recommendations.

OTHER IMPORTANT DUTIES:

Makes recommendations for department enhancements to the Director of Food Safety and QA/QA Manager

Other tasks and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

 Education & Experience:

Experience and understanding of food manufacturing industry. Bachelors degree in Micro Biology, Food Science or related field with 2-3 years of related experience is preferred but. Supplementary training and/or designations related to the quality assurance or food safety field, or equivalent education and experience, is desirable.
