SUMMARY OF POSITION

Responsible for planning, executing, and evaluating projects based on a predetermined budget and timeline.  Effective management of project teams and adherence to quality control throughout the project life cycle are essential to this position.  The project manager will be heavily involved in the day-to-day operational aspects of a project and its scope. 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

·         Be knowledgeable and demonstrate expertise in Problem Solving skills (PDCA)

·         Work with Operations Team, coordinating with Production Control and Reliability while participating in FMDS initiatives and methods

·         Manage project scope, goals, deliverables, required resources, budget and timelines

·         Complete work breakdown structure to estimate the effort needed for each task

·         Resolve issues and solve problems throughout project life cycle

·         Prepare and present project reports on a regular basis

·         Communicate expectations, schedules and scope changes to team members and stakeholders

·         Effectively manage direct reports, project resources and external vendors

·         Identify project task risks and develop mitigation plans

·         Collaborate with architect, civil, structural, mechanical, and electrical engineers

·         Read, understand, and implement engineering drawings/plans

·         Be knowledgeable and accountable in all aspects of civil works

·         Create strategy plan, and implement infrastructure development

·         Subject Matter Expert (SME) in building commercial and industrial construction

·         Ensure job site and construction safety

 

SKILL REQUIREMENTS

Language skills

·         Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Mathematical skills

·         Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals, along with computing ratios, and percentages.  Knowledge of statistics is desirable.

Reasoning ability

·         Must be able to apply general requirements into action as it applies to the plant.  Should be able to work in a team environment to accomplish goals and complete projects.

·         Judgment and Decision Making — Considering the relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate one.

·         Complex Problem Solving — Identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.

·         Critical Thinking — Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.

Computer skills

·         Ability to operate computers for time record approval, word processing, spreadsheets, and intranet/internet searches

·         The utilization of computer software such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint) are key

·         Advanced knowledge to provide reports and/or data and documentation in various programs

 

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

·         BS degree preferred

·         Associate degree or High School Diploma or equivalent is required

·         3-5 years of experience in construction projects

OSHA 30 certification (minimum) required
