SUMMARY OF POSITION

The Analyst II (Credit) position is held by an individual with keen or advanced analytical expertise within the Credit Dept.

This person will work closely with the Credit Manager, Customer Service, Collections and Sales, and will take the lead,   assessing risk to WP&A, will be a leader in cross department cooperation, and excel in ensuring that customer credit need are met.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • The following duties are typical of those performed by this job; Analysts II’s may not necessarily perform all of the duties listed.
    • Review and update current customer credit profiles, with minimal direction from Credit Manager
    • Review and set credit limits for new and present customers based on a review of the customer’s credit file

and with minimal direction from Credit Manager

  • Assess credit exposure/risk and is proactive in limiting risk to the company
  • Responsible for training new hires, temps, and trainees in credit policy/procedure and will

monitor these to ensure compliance and understanding in all Credit Policy/Procedure

  • Takes the lead in developing credit department improvement projects,
  • Assists Credit Manager in updating credit policies, procedures and duties.
  • Understand and report on short term and long-term credit availability, communicating this to the sales team, customer service, and the client(s) with minimal supervision
  • Active participation and leadership in WOW projects, continuing with all available WOW training
  • Actively takes the lead in monitoring compliance with terms, credit limits and policies, and in communication with customer service, sales, production/shipping and collections departments.
  • Defines and documents business functions and processes within their assigned department.
  • Researches and prepares in depth financial analysis of public and private data, market trends, and macro-economic conditions to provide the highest quality credit research and risk assessment.
  • Consults with department management and personnel to identify, define and document business needs and objectives, current operational procedures, problems, input and output requirements, and levels of systems access.
  • Provides work direction to one or more technical or clerical staff or acts as a team lead on designated projects or assignments.
  • Documents, recommends, and makes process and configuration changes to one or more operating functions or systems.
  • Demonstrates ability to manage credit department functions, duties, and responsibilities in the absence of the Credit Manager
  • Tasks assigned to this level require an in-depth and broader understanding of problem identification, analysis and resolution.
  • Assists in special projects, harvest duties, and any other duty as assigned.

SKILL REQUIREMENTS

Language skills

  • Excellent project management, writing, and oral communication skills are required.
  • Ability to present new concepts and strategies to executive leadership and technical communities.

Mathematical skills

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals, along with computing ratios, and percentages.  Knowledge of statistics is desirable.

Reasoning ability

  • Must be able to apply general requirements into action as it applies to the department.  Should be able to work in a team environment to accomplish goals and complete projects.
  • Excellent facilitation and consulting skills are necessary to successfully perform this job.

Computer skills

  • Knowledge in Company network drives, proficiency in using Microsoft office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint), Oracle, or Google products with adaptability to learn new applications.  

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • A Bachelor degree in Business Administration, Computer Systems, or related field is preferred but An Associate’s Degree in Business, Accounting, or related field will be considered with experience (three to six months related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience).
