Job Description
Reporting into our Category Marketing Lead, you’ll be a true marketing partner and collaborator to our category teams who can come to you with a goal or problem, and trust that you’ll own the marketing solutions to deliver impactful results! This trade driven marketing role is varied; you’ll wear your strategic planning hat and keep hands on with the ‘doing’. Toys as a significant category – think fun, vibrant, creative activations and trading events (e.g. our famous Mega Toy Sale), the wider categories can be trend and seasonal in nature so timing and lots of buzz is of the essence!
- Lead, develop and deliver trading campaigns, including across major trading events, support key business category plans with impactful marketing activity that drive sales, profitability and brand building.
- Lead the Discover, Define, Design & Deliver plans for specific Category, MTE and Brand activity in support of KPIs
- Work closely with creative, media team, merchandising, operations, media, corporate comms and omni experience to ensure marketing activities are integrated providing a cohesive customer experience.
- Work collaboratively with wider Retail Marketing team to ensure alignment and delivery of commercial and customer outcomes across one communications plan
- Manage agreed aspects of Marketing A&P budget efficiently across activity to improve effectiveness and ROI
Qualifications
Your strategic thinking and trading mindset are an absolute must. Your collaborative approach, commercial acumen, customer mindset and stakeholder management skills mean you innately understand levers and can work cross-functionally effectively to take stakeholders along on the journey. Our wish-list also includes:
- Proven successes delivering commercial results in a trading environment
- Broad multichannel marketing experience - retail marketer or perhaps from agency with a strong track record of delivering impactful campaigns!
- Intensely curious about category/consumer/shopper behaviour and not afraid to try new things
- Project management skills (managing timelines and budgets)
- A confident interactor and strong communicator – you know how to win friends, influence, negotiate, and push back when needed
- Must love the hustle of retail – fast paced, fun and customer-obsessed!
