Job Description

As a Garment Technologist, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the technical excellence of our product range. From concept to production, you will work closely with designers, buyers, and suppliers to ensure that our garments are produced to the highest standards of fit, quality, and functionality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain detailed product specifications and technical packs.
  • Conduct fit sessions and provide constructive feedback to achieve the desired fit and quality.
  • Collaborate with designers and buyers to bring creative concepts to life while ensuring technical feasibility.
  • Oversee the testing and approval of fabrics and trims to ensure compliance with quality standards.
  • Liaise with suppliers and factories to resolve technical issues and maintain production timelines.
  • Monitor production samples and provide approval for bulk manufacturing.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and sustainability practices.

 

Qualifications

A snapshot of what we’re looking for:

  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in tech packs, garment construction, pattern making, product development, grading/sizing and fitting.  
  • Quality Assurance - Strong knowledge of compliance with NZ safety standards and quality control procedures. 
  • Leadership: Proven ability to lead and inspire a team. 
  • 3D Apparel Software: Experience with Browzwear VStitcher (preferred), or other 3D apparel development programs. Ability to confidently create, amend, and fit in a virtual workspace.
  • Proficient in Adobe Illustrator. 
  • Skills: Strong organizational and analytical skills along with excellent communication skills 
  • Attention to Detail: Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to delivering the best possible products to our customers.
