Sustainability Partner

  • Full-time
  • Contract Type: Permanent

Company Description

As NZ’s largest general merchandise retailer with a footprint accessible to every kiwi, we are uniquely positioned to influence change.  Here at The Warehouse Group (TWG) we want to make sustainable living easy and affordable for everyone.  Our efforts and growing commitment continue to build on the programmes we have established over the past few years - they represent our founder’s legacy and demonstrate the Group’s purpose of helping ‘Kiwis live better every day.’

To help guide us in this journey we have developed a bold 2040 Sustainable Living Plan which comprises four Building Blocks each delivering specific objectives:

  1. Increase the number of more sustainable products and packaging and help our suppliers reduce their GHG emissions.

  2. Enable sustainable living solutions that help our customers live a healthy, low-carbon lifestyle.

  3. Provide circularity solutions that reduce the amount of post-consumer waste going to landfill.

  4. Increase the sustainability performance of our operations and decrease our operational carbon emissions (Scope 1 & 2) to zero by 2040.

These Building Blocks are underpinned by day-to-day foundational activity such as ethical sourcing, team engagement and reporting.

We’re very proud of the progress we’ve made but have much still to do – see our latest Integrated Annual Report for a good overview of our plans and progress to date.
