Chapter Lead - Research & Analytics

  • Full-time
  • Employment Type: Full Time
  • Contract Type: Permanent

Company Description

Insights are driving a key part of the agenda here at The Warehouse Group (TWG).  One of our Research and Analytics Chapter Leads is heading back home to the UK, so we have a key gap to fill.  We are looking for a data savvy storyteller to join us and be a critical player in our insights journey, where your recommendations are impactful, making a difference.

Kiwis shopping behaviours are changing due to technology, competition and shifting economies.  For TWG to thrive in this landscape we’ve gone agile to ensure our customers always come first.  What this means is that TWG is saying goodbye to traditional business structures, we’re simplifying the way we work, speeding up decision making, and breaking down the hierarchy so we work better, faster and get back to the innovation that made us great.

Job Description

Our Insights and Data Science chapter members are experts in exploiting data, science, analytics, research and design led thinking to enable data informed decisions through experimentation, ultimately balancing business needs and solving customer problems.

This role is two-fold.  Sitting within the Insights and Data Science Chapter (and reporting into the Insights and Data Science Chapter Area Lead), your time will be split between developing engaging work and people management.

You will be a valued strategic partner to all business areas focused on brand development.  This will be achieved by driving the customer agenda on all matters relating to brand insights. Understanding the drivers of brand preference and how they impact customer engagement and experience (both instore and online) is central to this role. Equally important, will be identifying opportunities for business growth and ultimately optimising our brand delivery. All whilst being mindful of priorities – so being a master in juggling initiatives!

You’re someone who’ll drive best practice in research and analytics while developing, supporting, nurturing, and empowering the team to be at its very best.  The people management aspects of this role will see you facilitate capability growth, consistency and allocation of resources within your chapter (circa 7 Chapter Members).

Qualifications

Your ability to make things happen, influence at all levels and your comfort to work at pace will sum up success in the role.  We will rely on your excellent storytelling, communication and relationship management skills, as this visible role will see you work cross functionally with a range of internal stakeholders at all levels.   We will rely on your ability to develop, empower and nurture your team to drive engagement and best practice.  Your passion and drive to share knowledge and raise the bar will be infectious.  Living and breathing Agile attributes such as servant leadership, collaboration and a growth mindset will come naturally to you.

  • 6-8 years’ experience in an insight’s capacity or in the brand manager space
  • Storytelling (and presenting) ability – an absolute must
  • Track record of delivering excellence
  • Previous people leadership experience
  • A pragmatic and resilient work style
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
