Operating in the fast paced, changing world of retail, it is more important than ever to source quality products, at the right price, that our customers love.  We are looking for a dynamic individual to join our Tech & Stationery merchandise team as a Planner, looking after The Warehouse and Warehouse Stationery brands. 

Job Description

Merchandise Planners play a critical role in our business as they oversee the range, the stock, pricing, promotions and budgets for their category. They are the ones that ensure that we have the right products in our ranges, the right quantities and that we are setting the right prices for our customers.

Working in partnership with our Buyers, your key focus is to ensure that the products that reach the shop floor meet the expectations of our customers in terms of price, range and availability. 

Our Stationery team love to keep things interesting! You'll work with a diverse range of products and a mix of continuity & trend driven lines across 2 brands, The Warehouse and Warehouse Stationery. This role is truly multifaceted, giving you exposure into store within a store format merchandise planning and commercial sales planning as well.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Setting budgets and reviewing forward plans
  • Analysing product performance trends and making recommendations for improvement
  • Working with the Buyers on range management, controlling markdowns and category spend
  • Reporting and planning - providing effective financial, forecasting and stock flow management reports
  • Managing pricing and promotional activity
  • Managing stock flow and monitoring aged stock

Qualifications

You will thrive on analysing data to identify trends, issues and opportunities, and are a skilled communicator who can influence decision making with your key stakeholders. Your strong commercial acumen and understanding of the trading and retail world will hold you in good stead for this position.
