What is the role?

Torpedo7 Nelson is looking for an experienced part time bike sales assistant. Our ideal bike sales assistant will be an active bike rider with proven retail experience, have a desire to learn and grow within the bike industry, and be customer led. In depth knowledge of our current range and the ability to fit bikes is essential. 

In this role, you will take responsibility to proactively approach your customers and use your communication skills to build rapport. It’s about the ability to genuinely talk to people about the gear we sell while delivering excellent service to our customers and meeting your individual targets.

The role involves weekend work and the successful applicant will be required to work both Saturday and Sunday.

Who are we looking for?

The successful applicant will have:

• A passion for bikes and an understanding of gear requirement for relevant activities
• Must have previous bike sales experience
• Experience with Giant, Trek, and Whyte bikes will be seen as a huge advantage
• Knowledge of Shimano, Sram, Fox, Rockshox and DVO bike componentry
• Proven ability to fit bikes, setup bikes and tune suspension
• In-depth knowledge of outdoor products (desirable)
• Mechanically minded
• A customer-centric attitude and live the ‘See You Out There’ culture
• A genuine desire to help people get into the sport but also have the confidence and experience to sell
• The ability to work as part of a team
• A desire to deliver a memorable experience to our customers
• Ability to work both weekend days
