This is a fantastic opportunity to join The Warehouse Group's well established merchandise team as a Category Assistant in the Computing team.



Job Description

As a Category Assistant, you are responsible for supporting the day to day operations of the category by liaising with various local and overseas based suppliers, running reports, assisting with marketing and providing support to the Category Manager in making decisions that capitalise on the profitability
and overall success of the division. 

This is an administration role that gives you a real, solid grounding in the life of a busy and varied Merchandise team. You will get exposure to a day, week and month in the life of an area that changes regularly.

Reportingto the General Manager- Trading, and working closely with the Category Managers you will be responsible for:



  • Administration and systems support

  • Placing and tracking orders

  • Raising purchase orders and barcodes

  • Maintaining the trading calendar

  • Managing supplier invoices and coding

  • Assisting with advertising/promotional plans

  • Mailer and image loading

  • Reviewing and reporting on sales monitoring

  • Sample management

  • Testing and quality check as required

You will have outstanding verbal and written communication skills as the ability to proactively manage suppliers and work cross functionally with your internal customers is critical to the team’s success. Your robust analytical and computer skills and your ability to manage and interpret large amounts of data will also hold you in good stead with this position.

Having come from a retail merchandise background you will know how products get from supplier to shelf and how to be on top of all the processes in between. There is a lot of scope and flexibility in this position which will allow you to grow and further develop your retail merchandising career.
