  • Conduct early case strategy, liability assessment, and investigation, including notice requirements (e.g., municipal cases)
  • Manage a high-volume caseload independently with appropriate support staff
  • Draft and file pleadings, discovery, motions, and legal memoranda
  • Take and defend depositions of parties, witnesses, and experts
  • Prepare for and attend mediations, hearings, and court appearances
  • Collaborate with experts, including report drafting and case development
  • Negotiate settlements with insurance carriers and opposing counsel
  • Prepare cases for trial and actively support or participate in trial litigation
  • Provide exceptional client service while maintaining consistent communication throughout the case lifecycle

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
  • Active member in good standing with the New York State Bar
  • 5+ years of plaintiff personal injury experience (auto liability / MVA strongly preferred)
  • Demonstrated experience handling cases across multiple phases of the lifecycle, including:
    • Pre-litigation (investigation, notice, liability development)
    • Litigation (motions, depositions, case strategy)
    • Trial preparation and/or trial exposure
  • Proven ability to independently manage a high-volume caseload
  • Strong writing, negotiation, and oral advocacy skills
  • Excellent client communication and relationship management

Preferred Qualifications (Bonus)

  • Experience with New York municipal liability and notice requirements
  • Trial experience (first or second chair)
  • Proven ability to manage large caseloads efficiently
  • Strong settlement negotiation track record
