Job Description
We are looking for a Senior Geologist who has Phase II and remediation experience to join our growing professional services team in our Dallas Texas region.
Core Responsibilities
- Conduct and oversee environmental site assessments (ESA), subsurface investigations, remediation work, and other project assignments as appropriate.
- Conduct/Direct field investigations activities, including collecting soil, groundwater, and indoor air samples and submit to third party lab with chain of custody
- Assist senior managers in the coordination of work activities for multiple project functions to ensure satisfying delivery.
- Assist senior managers in the meeting milestones, budgetary limits, deadlines, or other performance indicators.
- Assist in the selection and/or management of project staff members and subcontractors.
- Review and analyze laboratory and engineering data
- Prepare proposals, detailed ESA and/or other technical assessment reports including accurate data/summary tables and/or figures.
- Assist project manager with preparation of Municipal and State regulatory submittals
- Prepare and implement Health and Safety Plans for the site where required
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Geology, Environmental Science, or related environmental field
- 2+ years of professional experience conducting Phase 1 environmental assessments and Phase 2 Subsurface Investigation projects, contaminated site characterization investigations, and implementing remediation programs
- Working knowledge of the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) Texas Risk Reduction Program (TRRP) Rule and of Petroleum Storage Tank (PST) regulations
- Experience with addressing contamination through the TCEQ Voluntary Cleanup Program (VCP) and Innocent Owner/Operator Program (IOP)
- Experience with Municipal Setting Designations (MSDs)
- Experience with operations/corrective action under the TCEQ PST Division
- Experience with TRRP or other regulatory submittals, Response Action Plans and Response Action Completion Reports
- Ability/willingness for frequent travel to our client's sites. Valid driver's license required
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Strong technical writing skills
- Proficiency utilizing Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.), CAD a plus
- Able to work with minimal oversight, but take direction from senior managers.
- Able to meet deadlines, both internally and externally
- Other project duties as assigned by senior staff
Physical Requirements
- Walk job sites during inspections, sometimes on uneven terrain
- Carry field testing equipment (up to 80 pounds) onto job sites with regularity
- Participation in VERTEX medical monitoring program
