Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Consultant to oversee and manage a variety of environmental projects, including Phase I/II Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs), remedial investigations/remedial actions and regulatory compliance consulting services. As a key member of our Compliance and Regulatory Services team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the successful execution of projects for a diverse set of clients, while maintaining the highest standards of environmental compliance and safety.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct and/or oversee ESAs, Remedial Investigations/Remedial Actions, New Jersey Preliminary Assessments, and various regulatory compliance tasks including preparation of Spill Prevention Control & Countermeasures (SPCC) Plans, NPDES permitting, EPCRA Tier II reporting, etc.
  • Ensure accurate project setup, including planning, scope definition, and budgeting.
  • Manage projects to meet predetermined milestones, budgets, deadlines, regulatory requirements, and other performance metrics.
  • Lead teams effectively, ensuring proper coordination and on-time delivery of all project tasks.
  • Select and manage project staff and subcontractors.
  • Prepare and/or conduct senior review of technical project deliverables and reports, ensuring the inclusion of accurate data and summary tables/figures.
  • Coordinate activities across multiple project functions to guarantee satisfactory outcomes.
  • Develop and review Health and Safety Plans and Job Safety Analyses for project sites.
  • Achieve utilization and performance metrics as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Geology, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of professional experience in environmental assessment and remediation projects, including Phase I/II ESAs, and New Jersey Preliminary Assessments.
  • Experience conducting multi-media regulatory compliance audits.
  • Experience with Property Condition Assessments (PCA) is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of state and federal hazardous waste, hazardous material, storage tank, and storm water laws and regulations.
  • Proven ability to manage environmental projects, from planning through to completion.
  • Prior client/account management experience.
  • Appropriate licensure required to act as senior lead and reviewer on project work.
  • Strong project management skills with a keen attention to technical detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
  • Ability to meet deadlines for both internal teams and external clients.
  • Willingness to travel regionally, with occasional national travel. Travel may include car, train, or plane with little advanced notice.
  • Valid driver’s license is required for the role due to frequent use of rental cars or company vehicles.
  • Ability to walk job sites during inspections, sometimes on uneven terrain, and carry field testing equipment (up to 30 pounds) when needed.

The projected hiring range for this position is $105K to $120K for a person who meets the requirements.
