Job Description

Senior Associates provide support to management and the project team in the preparation and evaluation of construction claims on matters of varying sizes. Senior Associate Consultants are responsible for assisting in delivering outstanding professional services on assigned projects and will gain the skills and experience to develop into project leaders and construction expert witnesses.  

Main Responsibilities:

  • Support detailed analyses of project schedule delays, cost overruns, productivity, contracts, change orders and other issues related to design and construction 

  • Provide support in the preparation and/or evaluation of construction expert reports 

  • Assist in the development and/or analysis of construction claims and delay analyses  

  • Develop and/or review time extension and change order requests 

  • Evaluate contract damages and prepare cost analyses 

  • Develop, update, and maintain project schedules with supervisor input in Primavera P6. 

  • Perform reviews of baseline and periodic schedule updates for quality, compliance with specifications and overall reasonableness 

  • Review and analyze project cost records 

  • Assist with data gathering efforts including document review and supervision, and quality control of data entry activities 

  • Prepare client communications for senior-level review 

  • Review and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents 

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical, construction-related field (i.e.: architecture, construction management or civil engineering) 
  • 2+ years of experience working in construction management, construction claims, or scheduling/cost control 

  • Prior experience in preparing or evaluating construction contract claims strongly preferred, particularly as it relates to dispute resolution and schedule delays

  • Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications, contracts, estimating and take-offs, and as-built drawings

  • Ability to work in a consultant setting - tracking your time and monitoring activities against a budget and handling multiple tasks effectively 

  • Knowledge of computer operations and standard office software packages (MS Office and Excel) required, Primavera 6 (P6) familiarity preferred 

  • Travel as required to fulfill position and project responsibilities. 

  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) in English

  • Strong analytical and technical writing skills
