The Estimator we are seeking will enjoy the challenge of working within the greater Project Advisory group. This person will support the General Contracting division for Denver, CO, and report to the Preconstruction Manager. Project types are most often interior commercial in nature and span office, retail, industrial, medical, and hospitality. Projects range from $10K-$5M and have durations spanning from one-week to four-months. This tremendous opportunity offers significant upside in terms of experience and financial growth. This person will also assist our existing team to continue the rapid growth of the division by expanding the client network and seeking new construction opportunities.

Job Description

Core Responsibilities

  • Review construction drawings identifying what scopes/trades are required for pricing
  • Send out bid invites (RFP’s) to subcontractors through internal web portal
  • Attend onsite jobwalks taking pictures and measurements to share with potential subcontractor bidders
  • Monitor estimating email account, organizing incoming bids into specific project folders
  • Perform quantity take-offs of construction drawings to establish scope and compare against incoming bids
  • Follow up with subcontractors who have not turned in pricing or with questions regarding their proposals
  • Compare and input subcontractor bids into proposal form (budget and final)
  • Identify project risks and ensure proposals are priced accurately based on risk and ensure scope coverage
  • Manage subcontractor relationships ensuring work is distributed appropriately amongst vendors
  • Pursue new jobs/assignments, interface with potential clients. 
  • Manage deadlines, progress, and quality on multiple projects simultaneously.

Qualifications

Experience

  • 1-3 years experience in the Construction industry with previous experience estimating.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical, construction-related field (i.e.: architecture, construction management, engineering) preferred.

Position Requirements

  • Able to review and interpret architectural and engineered construction drawings and specifications.
  • Experience building relationships with clients, subcontractors, and design teams.
  • Experience in delivery of projects on-time and on-budget.
  • Able to communicate effectively (written and verbal) with superiors, co-workers, clients, and subcontractors
  • Travel as required to fulfill position and project responsibilities.
  • Able to prioritize and handle multiple tasks with minimal oversight.
  • Attire that represents the company's professional image on a daily basis.
  • Candidates should be familiar with interpreting construction drawings, specifications, contracts, estimating and take-offs, and as-built drawings.
  • Work in a construction setting

Knowledge & Skills

  • Must be able to perform multiple tasks and handle multiple priorities and have the ability to perform exceptionally under high stress conditions.
  • Knowledge of computer operations and standard software packages.
  • Proficiency of the Microsoft Office suite.

Additional Information

The annualized salary range for this role is $70,000 to $100,000 per year.
