The Vertex Companies, LLC (VERTEX) is a leading and fast-growth multidisciplinary professional services and consulting firm that provides forensic consulting, engineering design, construction project advisory, and environmental solutions. We primarily work with developers, REITs, insurance carriers, sureties, attorneys, architects, property managers, public agencies, general contractors, and institutional real estate and property owners.

We are looking for an IHBS Intern to assist in providing support with Industrial Hygiene projects. This role will report to our Chester, PA office and will combine field with office work.

Core Responsibilities

• Travel to client sites with the IHBS team and assist with field investigations
• Record site data in database and spreadsheet format
• Assist in the creation of figure and table creation
• Assist senior staff to prepare environmental documents and submittals

• Currently pursuing a degree in Environmental Sciences, Environmental Engineering, Geology, or a related program at an accredited college or university. - High School Diploma or GED required
• Minimum of one year's experience in fieldwork, or comparable college coursework
• Must be able to perform complex tasks and handle multiple priorities 
• Must have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe
• OSHA-10 or -30 certification and/or OSHA-40 Hazwoper certification preferred

Physical Requirements

• Walk job sites during inspections, sometimes on uneven terrain
• Carry field testing equipment (up to 30 pounds) onto job sites with regularity
