Job Description

LKB is seeking an office engineer with 5+ years of relevant construction experience for our 2023 construction hiring season. Using your engineering knowledge for construction project management, the successful candidate will perform office engineer/construction inspection of various construction operations such as traffic signal, roadway, and streetscape construction.

What you will be doing:

  • Assist in the planning and organizing of construction engineering projects
  • Prepare and process all project correspondence including RFI’s, progress reports, change orders, schedules, shop drawings, billing, submittals, etc
  • Maintain all project records, both hard copy and electronic
  • Review and process the contractor’s monthly construction cost estimates
  • Perform project closeout, turn over project records to owners such as O&M’s and warranties/guarantees
  • Other project and administrative duties as assigned, may include assisting with field inspections as necessary

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree program in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field required
  • 5+ years of office engineering experience in a construction setting 
  • NICET level III or IV certification is strongly preferred
  • OSHA 10 training certification, minimum
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Strong administration and organization skills
  • Experience and familiarity with NYSDOT record-keeping procedures and programs such as EBO, CEES, SiteManager, and MURK preferred
  • Working proficiency with computer office applications, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint, SharePoint, etc
  • Valid driver’s license and ability/willingness to travel to field construction sites on a regular basis required
  • Ability to read and understand construction plans and specifications
  • OSHA 10 training certification, minimum

Additional Information

The pay range for this position is $102,000 - $132,000 per year.
