Growth and new demand for our services in the Midwest market is why VERTEX is seeking a Project Manager or Senior Project Manager for Environmental Due Diligence and Remediation services in the Midwest Region.  Based out of our downtown Chicago, IL office, this exciting position will be implementing and/or overseeing due diligence investigations (ASTM Phase I Environmental Site Assessments and Property Condition Assessments), subsurface investigations, and environmental remediation projects throughout the region. What you'll be doing...

Responsibilities

• Conduct, oversee, and manage Phase I Environmental Site Assessment (ESA), Phase II Subsurface Investigation, and Remedial Projects.
• Conduct multi-phase and multi-parameter field investigation and remediation activities including collection of soil, groundwater, soil gas and indoor air samples.
• Coordinate and oversee subcontractor activities
• Manage multiple projects from proposal to successful final product delivery within budget and schedule.
• Prepare and review technical reports and data deliverables in accordance with internal quality control procedures and applicable regulations.
• Communicate effectively (written and verbal) with co-workers, clients, and sub-contractors.
• Work with minimal oversight and take direction from senior managers.
• Represent VERTEX to the client in a professional manner.
• Make employee safety a priority both in-house and on-site, in accordance with corporate policy
• Meet  utilization and performance metrics

• BS in Geology, Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or related environmental field
• 5+ years of professional experience and technical proficiency in environmental consulting services, including subsurface investigation and remediation
• Successful track record in managing multi-faceted environmental projects with multiple services and accelerated schedules
• Experience with assessment, remediation and compliance with the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency (IEPA) regulatory programs (e.g. LUST, SRP) as well as other relevant regulatory programs for the region
• Illinois Professional Licensure (PE/PG) in good standing or ability to receive within 6 months is a plus.
• Illinois Department of Public Health licensed asbestos inspector, management planner, project designer, project manager and/or air sampling professional is a plus
