Job Description

Are you an electrical engineer with a passion for fire investigation?

Do you hold an active PE license and have prior training in fire investigation?

What you will be doing:

  • Conduct on-site forensic fire investigations
  • Collect evidence at scene and to determine cause and origin of failure
  • Engage in site and laboratory examinations of evidence
  • Analyze construction design of electrical systems and applicable codes
  • Prepare and present technical investigative reports following ASTM guidelines
  • Setup client projects, maintain client contact, adhere to project budget, manage resource scheduling, and conduct desk reviews

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering 
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license 
  • 5 years’ experience as electric engineer in industrial, commercial, and residential settings with prior fire investigation experience 
  • Advanced investigative skills with demonstrated expertise in failure analysis
  • Ability to communicate effectively (written and verbal in English) with all stakeholders
  • Ability to walk job sites and collect evidence after fires, etc
  • Proficient in standard software packages (MS Office)
  • Fire investigation certifications (CFI, CFEI) a plus

This is a remote role reporting to our New York City office. Travel to client sites in the Mid Atlantic region is required.
