We have the opportunity for a Functional Analyst to join our Technical Analyst Services Practice, supporting the University’s extensive portfolio of platforms, systems and services.
As a Functional Analyst, you will build on your existing expertise while deepening your understanding of product lifecycle management, stakeholder engagement, and technical configuration. This is not a desktop support role; it is a varied technology-facing hybrid of ensuring best-practices in system configuration, requirements analysis, process improvement, and customer experience. The role offers a broad scope, combining business process analysis, requirements gathering, technical problem-solving, and continuous improvement.
You will work collaboratively within an Agile environment, contributing to a high-performing team that values knowledge-sharing, professional growth and flexibility.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing third-level technical support and delivering enhancements for high-impact, customer-facing technologies.
- Analysing enhancement requests to identify both technical and business requirements
- Collaborating with cross-functional technical and business teams to determine effective implementation approaches
- Discussing prototyping, testing, and deploying new system features, changes, and fixes
- Developing and maintaining knowledge content tailored to diverse audiences
- Engaging with stakeholders across varying levels of technical expertise and familiarity with Agile methodologies
- Participating in team planning to prioritise features, fixes, and continuous improvement initiatives
This is a full-time (37.5 hours/week) permanent position, with a salary range of $88,000 - $95,000 depending on skills and experience.

The Product Engineering team is made up of five technical Practices. These groups provide technical and process support to various strategic portfolios across the University's technology landscape These groups provide technical and process support to various strategic portfolios across the University's technology landscape.
Practice members are allocated into cross-functional hybrid agile delivery teams with Product Owners, across a number of business portfolios. In this role, you’ll be working with other Analysts in your delivery team, but not necessarily the whole FA Practice in your day-to-day business – though there’s plenty of opportunity to collaborate on Practice initiatives as well.

- Experience in systems configuration or technical support
- Interest in, or understanding of, data and system flows
- Ability to create and maintain user and technical documentation
- Skilled in triaging and troubleshooting system or process issues
- Experience supporting or configuring systems of high user impact
- Capability in analysing and improving tools, workflows, and processes
- Experience working within a ticket/request management system
