The Communications and Marketing Division is responsible for fostering positive relationships with future students and their influencers, staff, and the media. We manage the University’s brand and reputation, provide information to prospective students, deliver recruitment campaigns, and ensure effective communication both internally and externally.

The Digital Performance Specialist will sit within our Central Marketing team, reporting to the Digital & Content Manager.

Job Description

Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity

We are seeking a Digital Performance Specialist to deliver best-in-class, data-driven digital marketing campaigns that support the University’s strategic engagement vision. In this role, you will:

  • Act as the subject matter expert in digital analytics, embedding customer and digital insights into campaign and content development.
  • Provide actionable insights, campaign reporting, and continuous optimisation through a test-and-learn approach.
  • Support the implementation of new martech initiatives to drive a more connected customer experience.
  • Oversee end-to-end management of marketing tags in Google Tag Manager, collaborating with agency partners and the website team to ensure accurate, best-in class tagging practices.
  • Manage and maintain the marketing performance dashboard, partnering with external providers and technical support teams to deliver insights for stakeholders.
  • Serve as the Marketing SME for Google Analytics, working with the website team and analytics partners to optimise recruitment-related properties

This is a fixed term (12 months), full-time position (37.5 hours per week). The salary range is $83,300 – $102,900 per annum, dependent on skills and experience.

Qualifications

He kōrero mōu | About you

You will be an experienced digital marketing professional with strong technical and analytical skills. Specifically, you will bring:

  • A university qualification in a relevant discipline (postgraduate preferred).
  • 3–5 years’ experience in digital marketing, ideally in a performance-driven environment.
  • Proven expertise in Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, and integrated campaign reporting.
  • Experience leveraging first- and third-party data across paid and owned channels.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to translate complex insights into clear, actionable recommendations.
  • A collaborative, curious, and innovative mindset with strong time-management skills.

Experience with Google Data Studio, Google Ad Manager, or Google Cloud Platform/Big Query is desirable.
