Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity
We are seeking a Research Operations Administrator to join the Auckland Bioengineering Institute (ABI). This entry-level role provides critical operational and administrative support to ensure the smooth delivery of research activities across the Institute. As a key member of the administration team, you will work closely with researchers, postgraduate students, and university service divisions.
You will be responsible for:
- Supporting research staff and students with University systems, procurement processes, and compliance.
- Initiating and tracking service contracts and supplier setup.
- Coordinating room bookings and front-of-house support as needed.
- Maintaining records and developing a procedures manual to streamline operations.
- Ensuring a high standard of customer service, accuracy, and reliability across all tasks.
This is a full-time, entry-level, permanent position. The starting salary for this role is $55,300.

We are looking for a professional, customer-focused administrator who thrives in a dynamic research environment. You will have:
- A National Certificate of Educational Achievement Level 3 or equivalent vocational qualification (required); tertiary qualification preferred.
- Previous experience in an administrative or customer service role.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and comfort learning enterprise systems.
- Strong organisational and communication skills.
- A proactive and collegial attitude, with a commitment to service excellence.
Experience working in a university or research setting will be an advantage.
