The opportunity
Are you an experienced infant, child, and youth, mental health and addictions (ICAMH and AOD) clinician? Have you managed projects and budgets and delivered training programmes?
Whāraurau seek an experienced and passionate Workforce Delivery Lead to lead and facilitate the activity that supports our mental health and addictions programmes aimed at the ICAMH and AOD workforce across the spectrum of care (PHO, NGO, Te Whatu Ora services and those working in OT, education and youth justice). Initially, the role will support the Maternal Mental Health and Trauma Informed Care programmes and then support other programme deliverables; flexibility will be key. You will plan, provide resources, deliver and report on these workforce delivery activities, which enhance the capability of the ICAMH, AOD and whānau workforce. These programmes will support the development of knowledge and skills of those in the sector.
You will be currently in the ICAMH and AOD sector and work alongside whānau and communities. You will demonstrate project management and delivery capability and workshop delivery capability alongside your clinical expertise in ICAMH and AOD services. This is a great opportunity to work for a positive and passionate purpose, whilst gaining exposure to national projects that genuinely make a difference.
Key responsibilities:
- Lead and manage designated projects, providing strategic direction and oversight to ensure successful implementation of workforce development activities.
- Plan, deliver, and report on key tasks (i.e. workshops, online course, resources) related to the Whāraurau workforce development programme, specifically in the areas of infant, child, youth, and maternal mental health and addictions, and the trauma informed care work.
- Promote and implement trauma informed approaches and practices across services that support infants, children, youth, and their whānau, ensuring that these approaches are culturally appropriate and responsive to the unique needs of Māori, Pacific, and other diverse communities.
- Support workforce development with a focus on maternal mental health, ensuring that professionals are equipped to provide effective, empathetic, and culturally competent care to those having babies and whānau facing mental health challenges.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure workforce development activities are evidence-based, and meet the needs of the ICAMH and AOD and whānau mental health sector in Aotearoa.
- Support the ICAMH and AOD (Alcohol and Other Drugs) workforce in the implementation of trauma-informed practices, strengthening their capacity to respond effectively to the mental health and addiction needs of infants, children, and youth, and those that care for them.
- Ensure principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi are supported and implemented in delivery of service.
