Te Whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity

We seek to appoint a senior colleague into the Criminology program in Social Sciences.  We are looking for an Associate Professor or Professor who will contribute leadership in the interdisciplinary framework of the University and visionary teaching and research in criminology.  The program takes a critical approach to the discipline, but we are open to different fields of specialization.  Ideally, the successful candidate will be familiar with Te Tiriti o Waitangi (the Treaty of Waitangi) and be prepared to build relationships with Māori and Pacific communities in New Zealand.

This is a permanent, full-time 1 FTE (40 hours per week) role

The salary range for this role is between $157,822 - $181,129, based on skills and experience.

To be considered for this position, you will have the following:

• A PhD in Criminology or a cognate discipline
• A track record of successful and innovative teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate levels
• A track record of publications, external grant funding, and undertaking of interdisciplinary research.
• Proven ability to develop and nurture relationships with local communities and/or government organizations.
