Job Description
The Faculty of Business & Economics
Housed in the state of the art architecturally designed Sir Owen G Glenn Building, our top-ranked, triple-crown accredited University of Auckland Business School is seeking to recruit established and early career academics to join its world class faculty. It is the largest business school in New Zealand and has an international reputation for academic excellence. The Business School comprises seven academic departments with a strong reputation across the Asia-Pacific region and beyond. We support exceptional, internationally recognised faculty who are characterised by their desire to make a difference to business in New Zealand, the global economy and society more generally. The disciplinary areas are intended to provide a supportive and collegial environment for all researchers and in particular to ensure focused mentoring for early career researchers.
The School enjoys excellent international links and leading scholars from top overseas universities often visit the Business School and teach courses in our undergraduate and post graduate programmes.
The Department of ISOM
The Department of Information Systems and Operations Management (ISOM) is one of seven departments within the University of Auckland Business School. The department teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in most aspects of Information Systems, and also teaches Operations and Supply Chain Management, and Business Analytics. The teaching curriculum is robust, diverse and innovative and the quality of teaching, as rated using student evaluations and peer reviews is held with high standards. The academics in the department have excellent publication record and published widely in the top journals within their relevant fields. The research is organised into two disciplinary areas namely Information Systems (IS DA) and Decision and Operations Management (DOM DA).
The Centre of Digital Enterprise (CODE), and the Centre for Supply Chain Management are two research centres housed within ISOM, conducts research that takes a broad view on digital transformation, designed to address contemporary challenges faced by societies, enterprises, policy makers and individuals. All methodological areas within operations will be considered, an interest in and ability to publish in elite operations journals is a key requirement for the position.
Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity
The School is looking for high quality researchers and innovative teachers at the Lecturer level. We are particularly seeking candidates with a strong aptitude/flair for teaching as you will be involved in teaching and curriculum development in the Business School’s “Core” first year BCom offering.

This is a Permanent, Fulltime (40 hours per week) opportunity.
The salary range is $91,328 - $109,099 and will be dependent on experience.

You are an energetic, can-do person with postgraduate business-related qualifications. A PhD (or soon to be completed PhD) in Operations and Supply Chain, or Information Systems or Business Analytics is highly desirable. Teaching experience at large undergraduate level will be a plus.
