Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity

The position will be supporting Student Communications and is tasked with the planning, development and implementation of innovative marketing and communications strategies, with the aim of retaining students, removing personal barriers to academic success, and helping students to maximise the non-classroom dimensions of the University experience.

Representation of the University at a range of on campus and domestic events may be required. Evening and weekend work may be required once or twice a quarter for photoshoots, student events, or similar.

The team consists of 7 members including 4 advisers, 2 graphic designers, and 1 coordinator.

He kōrero mōu | About you

The ideal candidate is proactive, confident, highly detail oriented and a true team player. The candidate will be a good communicator, they will speak the marketing and communications language fluently, be good at relationship building and stakeholder management.

Additionally, someone who can stand their ground but also compromise when needed.

Essential: 

· At least 3 years of relevant marketing experience (needs to understand the framework of marketing and communications)

· Experience in a diverse range of marketing and advertising activities across print, the web and digital media

· Capability in digital marketing, including social media, mass email and web platforms

· Needs to have managed websites, photoshoots, and videoshoots

· Previously worked with graphic designers is a plus

Qualifications

A bachelor’s degree in communication, marketing, or a relevant subject area
