Working in the Extracellular Vesicles Laboratory within the Department of Molecular Medicine and Pathology, you will be involved in the development of a microfluidic device for the capture of extracellular vesicles as a cancer biomarker from plasma.

Applications are invited for a Research Technician to work on an Auckland Medical Research Foundation funded grant aiming to develop a microfluidic device that will be used to analyse extracellular vesicles from cancer patient plasma as a biomarker for response to immunotherapy treatment.

This role would be suited to someone who is MSc and/or BSc(hons) qualified with at least two years of laboratory work experience. Technical experience in cell-line culture, handling of blood samples, ELISA and immunoaffinity methods are highly desired. An interest in bioengineering and microfluidics would also be beneficial but not essential. We are looking for an enthusiastic researcher who is willing to learn new techniques, develop new methodologies and who has excellent communication skills and record-keeping.

You will need to be able to work independently, as part of a small, recently established research team and with a network of collaborators.
