Job Description

An exciting opportunity exists to assist in the clinical research programme of the Centre for Brain Research.

We are looking for an experienced Research Nurse to participate in a multidisciplinary team in the Dementia Prevention Research Clinic, recruiting people with mild cognitive decline or in the very early stages of dementia to join a longitudinal research cohort to follow the natural course of the disorder and to test strategies to slow disease onset and/or progression.

  • You will be responsible for coordinating a diverse range of tasks from participant recruitment, longitudinal assessment through to archiving.
  • You will recruit and consent, participants, collect clinical data, take research samples and proactively manage the progress of the study.

This is a full-time, fixed-term opportunity for 12 months. 

Our ideal candidate

The role requires extensive knowledge and experience within a clinical research environment. In addition, you will be an excellent organiser, you will have a meticulous approach, ensuring that all aspects of research protocols are adhered to, monitoring and reporting events, whilst maintaining confidentiality at all times

  • be a New Zealand practising nurse
  • have excellent communication skills who can manage and prioritise a varied workload.
  • be a team player that can take the lead in some tasks while assisting colleagues with other study tasks.
  • be comfortable with phlebotomy
  • be computer literate with some experience in electronic forms and/or database and have excellent attention to detail.
