The Opportunity 

The Faculty of Science is looking to appoint an Industry Liaison Co-ordinator to drive industry engagement for its Data Science & ICT postgraduate programmes.  This position is full-time and fixed-term for 11 months covering parental leave.  

Data Science is a rapidly growing field of study for students at the University of Auckland.  As a result, the successful applicant will be supporting the Faculty to ensure effective delivery and implementation of the industry project aspects of the programme. This is an exciting role which will provide plenty of opportunities to work alongside academic staff and professional functions across the University.

The Role

As an Industry Liaison Co-ordinator, you will initiate, develop and support strategic alliances with employers and industry to co-ordinate and implement industry projects and graduate role opportunities. You will be responsible for enhancing opportunities for industry to engage with the School and will play a key role in developing relationships between the school and the wider business community.

Other key responsibilities include:

  • Organising industry project placements including managing student profiles, contracts and student data management, interview scheduling and feedback collation plus ongoing contact with employers post-employment.
  • Engaging with industry through events, networking and communications to seek opportunities for partnership and implementation of industry projects and graduate role opportunities.
  • Reviewing and developing a range of workshops, networking events and other activities to achieve a high level of student and industry collaboration.
  • Developing new opportunities with new and existing employers.
  • Representing the University and Faculty to a high level.
