The Business Transformation Office is part of the Organisational Performance and Improvement (OPI) Service Division. OPI is responsible for the effective delivery and transition of strategic transformation projects, portfolio management and delivery of staff services. BTO acts as a centre of expertise to provide services, tools and expertise to support the University to build and extend the ways in which the services and processes are designed, enabling continuous improvement and innovation. 

An exceptional opportunity has arisen for an experienced Change Practice Manager to lead and coach a high performing change and communications team whilst providing effective change portfolio management across the Business Transformation Office.

Job Description

As Change Practice Manager, you will provide leadership that motivates and encourages a culture of knowledge sharing and professional development to ensure the delivery of services that are innovative, agile and aligned to best practice. You will have a genuine interest in people and enjoy creating a team culture that is collaborative, creative and adaptable to change.

Some other key responsibilities include:

  • Assessing requirements and providing appropriate change and communication resources for University strategic initiatives
  • Monitoring, managing and enhancing the change management practice within the University, aligning with the Prosci Change Management Methodology
  • Championing and providing support and guidance to increase change management capability and maturity across the University
  • Providing support to the Manager, BTO in the management and leadership of the department
  • Supporting the operation and improvements within BTO, OP&I and the wider University
  • Providing direct support for project and programme change management where required.

A critical thinker, you will be able to recognise what is required from our team of skilled analysts and will effectively plan and report on service delivery to ensure quality assurance and overall integrity of BTO services.

Our ideal candidate

  • You will be an experienced people leader with proven experience leading a team of analysts in a large, complex organisation
  • You will have understanding of business and process architecture, process improvement and continuous improvement along with innovation methods such as Six Sigma, Lean, Agile and Design Thinking
  • Be able to set and manage standards of service delivery and be customer focused
  • Be highly organised with the ability to plan and forecast and manage resources effectively
