Job Description

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Simulation Technician Team Leader to manage the technical operations of the Simulation Centre for Patient Safety and lead the refinement of SCPS processes. 

This opportunity involves leading technical support in a fast-paced environment on a variety of courses. You will have responsibility for ensuring our high standards of clinical fidelity are met, state-of-the-art equipment is ready to be used, and relationships with clinical staff are developed and maintained.

Ideally, you will have a clinical background. The position would suit someone with previous simulation experience or a keen interest in medical education.

Some of the key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Lead the implementation and refinement of SCPS processes to support the smooth and efficient running of simulation activities
  • Lead the technical operations for the practical delivery of educational activities and research
  • Manage a small team of simulation technicians and coordinators 
  • Prepare and maintain SCPS resources to a high standard for education/ research activities 
  • Maintain compliance with regulatory requirements in delivering simulation-based activities at SCPS or delivered elsewhere by SCPS staff 

This is a permanent position working 22.5hrs per week. 

 Skills and experience 

  • Experience in a tertiary qualification in health science, min. level Certificate in Health Sciences
  • Preference will be given to candidates with an educational background.
  • We are seeking somebody who has experience in a role within an acute care healthcare environment. Preference will be given to candidates with operating room experience.
  • You must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.  
  • An Interest in technical aspects of simulators, clinical equipment and audiovisual equipment. Preference will be given to candidates with biomedical and simulation equipment knowledge
