Job Description

You will be required to manage planned and unplanned maintenance of the University’s buildings and utilities by overseeing internal staff and contracted resources. You will need to be able to ensure optimal allocation of internal and contracted resources to maintain the most efficient and cost effective delivery of maintenance services. Along with this, you will ensure best practice, legal requirements and high levels of health and safety are met. This role works directly with one of our most technical and diverse portfolio’s so a background working in technical environments is a must.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for an experienced leader with extensive commercial maintenance experience to manage a diverse building portfolio. You will be an excellent communicator with the ability to provide direction to staff and oversee contractors. In addition to this you will have:

  • A minimum of 7 years commercial and project management experience in a facilities or construction related environment.
  • Demonstrable experience with complex building portfolios.
  • Experience managing contracts and budgets along with confidence in Microsoft Windows-based systems.
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Proven experience in a construction, electrical or mechanical field.
  • An ability in dealing with finance and budgets.
