    Job Description

    The School of Computer Science at the University of Auckland is currently looking for an early career academic to join our diverse and internationally renowned school as an entry level Professional Teaching Fellow. If you are passionate about teaching and want to build lasting collaborations, and value diversity, we encourage you to apply.

    The appointee will primarily be involved with coordinating and teaching courses in the undergraduate programme at Auckland but may also be required to teach courses offered by the School of Computer Science in China.  This is a teaching-only role with no opportunity for research. Experience teaching students is essential, and lecturing experience with large classes (over 300 students) would be an advantage.

    Qualifications

    Our preference will be for applicants with expertise in the Systems area of Computer Science, such as computer architecture, networks, cybersecurity, operating systems, parallel and distributed computing and cloud computing.

    Our ideal candidate will have:

    • A postgraduate degree in Computer Science or another closely related subject.
    • A commitment to high-quality research-informed teaching of undergraduate students.
    • Ability to motivate and engage students
