Position description:

The position supports the USSF- United States Space Force. 

Designs, develops, documents, tests, and debugs updates to applications software and systems that contain logical and mathematical solutions. We are looking for immediate help to support the ground software, and potentially the flight software, for a legacy space based passive microwave radiometer program.
 

Qualifications

Required qualifications:
• Candidate must demonstrate recent knowledge/coding in Fortran (90/95) to support ground software improvements/maintenance.
• Experience writing and performing unit tests and reports.
• Candidate should have experience with preparation of operating instructions and utility programs (tools). New tools could be developed in MatLab, IDL, Python, or Fortran. Existing tools are predominantly written in IDL with limited cases in MatLab.
• Candidate ensures software standards are met.
• Experience with Red Hat (6-8) operating system

Desired Qualifications:
• Writing/updating scripts - perl
• Experience using the GNU Fortran compiler and associated Makefiles
• Experience running static analyzers (‘Understand’/’Fortran Lint’)
• Knowledge of space based passive microwave radiometers and associated environmental data products
• Knowledge of IDL
• Knowledge of embedded ADA would be a major plus
• Some VAX operating system knowledge -- ADA flight code is compiled in a VAX virtual environment, but editing could be handled externally

  • This position is for our direct client, a large federal contractor.
