Notes: This position requires a W2 engagement only, no 3rd party corp to corp responses, please. Candidates must qualify for a DoD security clearance. 

USG1 is seeking a talented Senior Principal Electrical Design Engineer to lead the development and integration of complex electronic test systems and electronic hardware units in support of space flight programs. This individual would act as the responsible design engineer (RDE) and technical lead of development on our program.

The electronic hardware development responsibilities include: architecture design, detailed design, performing customer briefings/reviews, hardware test, site integration, and post-delivery support. Primary deliverables are flight electronics test systems and satellite system operational ground-based hardware. The candidate will lead a design in a team environment with other engineering functions, including: Flight Engineering, Systems Engineering, Product Engineering, Software Engineering, Production, Procurement, and Program Management to meet schedule and technical requirements.

The ideal candidate has a broad range of experience with:

  • Leading small teams
  • Design, integration, and test of Digital and Analog/RF circuits
  • PCBs/CCAs
  • Electronic drawers/units
  • FPGAs
  • Small to large electronic subsystems

 

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering, or another STEM degree from an accredited institution and 14 years of experience in an Engineering Environment; OR, a minimum of 12 years of experience with a Master’s Degree in STEM
  • Design and test experience in digital technology


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering from an accredited institution
  • DOD, SCI, or SSBI clearance

Additional Information

  • Work is on-site. Remote work is not possible for this position.
  • This position is for our direct client, a large federal contractor. The federal contract requires that all contractors be eligible for a security clearance.
