Job Description

The Email Marketing Specialist reports to the Ecommerce Manager and will be a key contributor in driving sales via email, website content, and SMS messaging.  In collaboration with Marketing, Merchandising, Creative, and Development teams, you will deliver support for omni-channel initiatives.  This individual will support the daily execution of marketing emails and transactional emails, track key email metrics on an ongoing basis, derive insights from results, and share recommendations with the broader internal teams.

The Email  Marketing Specialist must be able to thrive and succeed in an entrepreneurial environment and not be hindered by ambiguity or competing priorities.  Customer obsession and the ability to dive deep into the details with exceptional communication skills are essential to success in this role.

  • Email Marketing Specialist will be responsible for the management of email communication, in collaboration with Creative, Marketing, Merchandising, and Development teams.
  • Conceptualize email workflows and automation rules that deliver on data-driven, dynamic, and personalized content strategies.
  • Work closely with the Marketing team and Email Service Provider to plan and execute daily emails, segmentation files, contact lists, and A/B test schedules.
  • Provide quality assurance testing for email templates, assets, workflows, and automation rules.
  • Obtain timely approvals on content from the marketing team and key stakeholders.
  • Support the communication of key messaging through multi-channel marketing including email, SMS, push, and site channels ensuring cohesive messaging throughout.
  • Support weekly, monthly, quarterly, and ad hoc reporting on transactional and marketing messages, analyzing results, and identifying opportunities to drive increased email revenue.
  • Create national, regional, and segment-based emails for pro and retail audiences.
  • Code, develop, and QA responsive HTML emails and templates to ensure multiple email client compatibility.
  • Build A/B testing methodology for assigned campaigns to enhance engagement and deliverability.
  • Responsible for maintaining the integrity of contact segments, lists, and engagement levels.
  • Analyze email trends, spot patterns, and suggest ideas to improve campaigns to be on par with best practices and advancing email marketing strategies

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year college or university (Business or marketing degree preferred).
  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience in Email marketing, Ecommerce experience is preferred but not required.
  • Prior experience working on an Email program with automation rules, workflows, and transactional communications, along with reporting on results using a large-scale ESP is required.
  • Careful attention to detail without sacrificing deadlines.  The right candidate will be able to juggle several, sometimes conflicting deadlines and priorities while executing impeccably.
  • Highly responsible, collaborative, and self-motivated with a penchant for details and organization, including the ability to prioritize tasks, communicate progress and meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical skills, and the ability to compile, analyze and leverage performance data to both identify optimization within the current business and new growth opportunities.  Must be passionate about presenting a fact-based argument and enjoy numbers.
  • Strong aptitude for performance analysis to continuously optimize and improve performance of consumer-facing digital campaigns and experiences.
  • Have basic HTML coding experience and the ability to work hand-in-hand with developers and technical teams.
  • High comfort and functional level in Excel. Fluency in Word, PowerPoint, and related applications.
  • General understanding of ADA, Email, and SMS compliance regulations is required.
  • Familiarity with systems such as Emarsys, SAP, Sitecore, and Adobe Experience Manager is preferred.
