The SAP Basis Engineer will be responsible for day to day operations of several SAP Landscapes including but not limited to production environments.  This role will also have responsibilities that include installation and setup of new servers and landscapes, patch application, system performance tuning, system copy, and client copy.  The administrator will need to have extensive experience with S4 HANA 1709/1809 and knowledge of clustering and highly available systems.    

 Technical Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage day to day operations of our customer SAP System landscapes ensure the effective delivery of services by internal resources and agreed upon SLAs. 
• Oversee on-going activities and projects supporting SAP production and non-production environments, including S4HANA, BOBJ, Enterprise Portals, Gateway, Fiori and underlying databases such as Oracle, ASE Sybase or SAP HANA.
• Be responsible for Basis administration to analyze, configure and monitor the SAP technical environment and operations including interfaces, SAP contacts, transports, system copies, and other technical responsibilities.
• Plan and ensure assigned technical tasks are completed in accordance with the process and the established SLAs – while maintaining excellent customer satisfaction.
• Monitor and measure adherence & compliance to the patch management process for operating systems, software applications, firmware, etc., and produce monthly metrics of patching results.
• Work closely with the application development team to provide security requirements and confirm their integration within the appropriate phases of the Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
• Consults on the definition, planning and execution of all Disaster Recovery plans to ensure business continuity.
• Partner with infrastructure team on vulnerability assessment and remediation.
• Subject Matter Expert for the organization for SAP System Administration, BASIS Administration, Database Administration, and work with SAP Security Administration resources.
• Create, control, and manage all batch jobs.  Perform and manage OS level, database and application backups.
• Upgrade SAP Kernels, SAP OSS Notes Implementation, apply add-ons and support packages.

Process Responsibilities:

• Ensure compliance to internal security policies, procedures, and control sets.
• Provide mentorship and technical guidance for members of the team.  Measure, monitor and manage functional team satisfaction and provide all remediation necessary.
• Interface with Customer or Partner functional teams to analyze functional and technical requirements and support implementation projects through Go Live and Post Go Live steady state support. 
• Ensure the various geographically dispersed Basis teams – communicate, cooperate and collaborate to support complex customer SAP systems and landscapes.
• Provide single point of communications with assigned customers with all aspects of their SAP environments.
• Execute customer strategies as per established SAP Basis best practices.  Adhere to technical standards on the use of SAP Solution Manager.

• 10+ Years SAP Netweaver, SAP Basis, SAP Performance Management experience is mandatory
• 7+ Years SAP Web Dispatcher and SAP J2EE Portal experience is mandatory
• 5+ Years HANA Database administration and ASE Sybase Database Administration is mandatory
• 5+ Years SAP Gateway Administration and Fiori APPS Administration is mandatory
• 2+ Years SAP ABAP and SAP Fiori experience is mandatory
• 5+ Years Linux/Unix Operating system experience is preferred
• 5+ Years Windows Active Directory and VMWare virtualization is preferred
• 1+ Years Azure, AWS, GCP experience is preferred

Education and Certifications:

• B.S or M.S. in Computer Science or related field
• At least 10 years of industry experience in an SAP Basis Administrator role
• Work experience of at least 2 years with a mid-size retailer is a plus
