As The Start Smart’s Data Story Lead, you will be integral in mining the requisite data, statistical mapping and constructing data stories for each unique project. You are a logical yet human-centered individual who is capable of combining the data aspects with the human-driven notions required to deliver successful Start Smart products.

Responsibilities:

• Mine and construct data stories for client organisations for product development
• Collaborate with our predictive modelling teams to showcase data journeys which ultimately tell a data story
• Exude and combine the qualities of a data scientist and analyst to ensure the best outcome in our client projects
• Be responsible for data mining, storing and cleanup for the purposes of model building
• Lead for disruption when required

Requirements:

• An entrepreneurial mindset that understands the fast-paced nature of a start-up
• As a start-up we cannot accord a long time-frame for onboarding. The ideal person for this role must be someone who is ready to hit the ground running
• Must be someone who takes initiative through intuition
• Ability to both learn and work with our team of strategists, researchers, and solutions
• Understand the neo challenges in today’s ever-changing business world
• Self organised and highly agile in your work
• Start-up mentality that’s prepared to be hands-on 
• Ability to think out of the box and creatively
• Have a disruptive mindset that is willing to go against industry norm

• Post Graduate or PHD in data analytics and science, computer science, mathematics and statistics or equivalent qualification highly appreciated
• Extensive relevant professional experience in analytics and data science with at least 2 years of working experience
• Familiarity with agile methodology
• Proficient in coding languages such as SQL, Java and Python 
• Proficient in programs such as Microsoft Excel, Tableau and other relevant data software
