The Springs Living is seeking a Maintenance Assistant for our brand new Independent Living, Assisted Living, and Memory Care community. This state of the art, beautifully designed community has 175 wonderful homes, and include a variety of amenities including restaurant-style dining, pub style dining, pool, spa, and so much more!

The Maintenance Assistant for our community supports the Maintenance Director to assure proper, consistent maintenance of our community including building interior and exterior, grounds, walkways, driveways and parking lot.

Essentional functions of the job are:

  • Support proper and consistent maintenance of facility exterior, including building, lawn, plant and/or flower beds, walkways, driveways, and parking lot.
  • Support proper and consistent maintenance of facility interior, including resident apartments, common areas, offices, storage rooms, and kitchen.
  • Assures all equipment and supplies related to maintenance tasks are stored appropriately and safely.
  • Assures Executive Director and Plant Operations Manager are regularly informed of facility status and particularly of any significant problems for which guidance is necessary.
  • Assures all equipment and supplies related to maintenance tasks are stored appropriately and safely.
  • May be required to drive community vehicles to and from required destinations, safely and according to schedule.
  • Demonstrates safe working practices at all times.
  • Cooperates with others to effectively and efficiently achieve goals and resolve problems
  • Maintains a professional image to residents and fellow co-workers, in words, actions, and appearance.

Qualifications

 

  • Previous experience in construction or apartment maintenance preferred, but not required
  • Maintains current and appropriate driver’s license
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret administrative regulations.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, electronic, or schedule form.
  • Ability to prioritize and organize assignments.
  • Proficient PC skills including e-mail, record keeping, routine database activity, word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, etc.

 

Additional Information

Typical physical and environmental considerations:

  • Maintain ability to lift 50 pounds; to stand or walk throughout the vast majority of the work day; and to frequently push, pull, bend, twist, and reach
  • Must have sufficient manual dexterity to work with the fingers and to reach/handle items.
  • Must also be able to walk throughout campus on frequent basis for extended periods of time.  (Up to five hours)
  • Involves light to heavy physical activity performing non-strenuous and strenuous daily activities
