The SAE School is an independent school which opened in August, 2013 in the Northwest metro Atlanta area.  We will offer preschool (infants - 4 year olds) - 8th grade in our sixth year (2018-2019) and have 40+ staff to include teachers, support staff and administrators.

We have a culture of 100%.  We expect that 100% of our students will graduate from high school, go on to attend and graduate from college.  Anything less will be viewed as a failure on our part.

Job Description

****Our preschool is growing exponentially and we are looking for loving teachers who can inspire kids and make learning fun for them.  You will be expected to -   

  • Maintain a safe, clean environment. 

•    Foster an open, friendly, and cooperative relationship with each child and family.
•    Provide a variety of materials and resources for children to explore and manipulate during learning activities and in imaginative play.
•    Teach basic literacy and foundational math skills to mastery. 

•    Establish and enforce high expectations for behavior, and procedures for maintaining order.
•    Organize each day’s activities to provide children with a variety of experiences and opportunities that allow them to develop curiosity, initiative, problem solving skills, and creativity.
•    Organize and lead activities designed to promote physical, mental and social development, such as games, arts and crafts, music, storytelling, and learning centers.
•    Meet with parents and guardians for parent/teacher conferences to discuss their children's progress and needs, determine their priorities for their children, and suggest ways that they can promote learning and development.
•    Adapt teaching methods and instructional materials to meet students' varying needs and interests.
•    Establish clear objectives for all lessons, units, and projects, and communicate those objectives to children and parents. 
•    Arrange indoor and outdoor space to facilitate creative play, motor-skill activities, and safety.
•    Administer tests to help determine children's developmental levels, needs, and potential

•    Attend staff meetings, educational conferences, and teacher training workshops in order to maintain and improve professional competence.

  • Come to work on time, enthusiastic, committed, and professionally prepared every day.
  • Ability to lift a 15-30 pound child frequently throughout the day 

Qualifications

•    Bachelors, Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field, or CDA.
•    First Aid/ CPR certified.
•    Minimum 6 months experience in a licensed center.
•    Demonstrated knowledge of developmentally appropriate practices.
•    Strong written and communication skills.
•    Maintain current credentials.

•    Be familiar with the National Association for the Education of Young Children's (NAEYC) code of ethics.
•    Must pass State of Georgia and FBI background checks.
•    Must be able to kneel, stoop, squat, and stand for a long time and demonstrate and engage in activities like jumping, dancing, walking, and running.
