Job Description

 

 

Responsibilities:

 

 

 

 

 

  • Key role within the accounting team
    responsible for the Emerging Markets Equities strategies that primarily invest
    in funds, international equities and equity derivatives. 

 

 

 

 

 

  • Perform daily and monthly reconciliation of
    positions, cash, and valuation with third-party administrators and custodians.

     

  • Calculate daily and monthly investment portfolio
    performance using accounting systems and service provider data.

     

  • Ensure accuracy and proper accounting treatment
    of investment activities including valuation/pricing, subscriptions and
    redemptions, commitments, payments to/from underlying funds, accounts
    receivable/payable, distributions, equalization, cost reconciliation, realized
    and unrealized gain/loss, corporate actions, and other activities.

     

  • Verify accounting treatment of investor
    activities including contributions and withdrawals, calculation of asset-based
    fees and expenses, allocation of income/loss and expenses, calculation of
    performance fees, NAV computation, and series accounting.

     

  • Assist with the annual audits of the portfolios which
    include preparing financial statements, working with independent auditors, preparation
    of audit confirmation requests, calculation of financial highlights, and other
    assigned tasks.

     

  • Handle other ad-hoc requests such as investor
    requests, audit confirmations, and other assigned tasks.  

     

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Specialized Skills/Knowledge/Competencies

 

 

 

 

 

  • Knowledge of pricing and valuation of listed international
    equity securities and derivatives including – equities, futures, forwards, and
    SWAPs.

     

  • Understanding of US GAAP for investment
    funds/portfolios

     

  • Experience in maintaining trial balance and
    general ledger entries related to investment portfolio accounting. 

     

  • Experience in using accounting software such as
    Eze PMS or any similar investment accounting software.

     

  • Fully proficient computer skills, particularly
    using information databases, internet/intranet services, and working knowledge

  • Demonstrated ability to apply good judgment specifically
    as it relates to identifying issues in a timely manner, good problem-solving
    skills and prioritization of workload to meet deadlines.

Minimum Education/Experience



 



  • Undergraduate degree in finance or accounting

     

  • Professional certification: CPA/CFA is a plus
