Job Description

Position Summary:

This hands-on leadership role offers a unique opportunity to contribute significantly to our team and company success. As a Tool Room Supervisor, you'll oversee daily operations, maintain tooling, and support production floor needs, while developing your leadership skills and advancing your career within a growing company.

  • Hours: 3:30 pm-12:00 am

Responsibilities:
This list of duties and responsibilities is not all-inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities. Employees may perform other related duties as negotiated to meet the ongoing needs of the organization.

  • Supervise, lead, and coordinate the work of employees as assigned in the tool room.
  • Provide instruction and expertise in the build/development/maintenance of tooling to meet production needs.
  • Must be able to perform all duties of a Journeyman Toolmaker.
  • Help to troubleshoot and debug progressive dies and new tooling.
  • Assist in press setup as required
  • Work with staff to set and accomplish department goals while promoting continuous improvement.
  • Periodic designing using CAD skills and the willingness to learn a variety of computer programs.
  • Follow all safety and compliance procedures, holding team members accountable as well.
  • Collaborate with other employees across departments.
  • Knowledge of CNC and wire EDM processes.
  • Order tooling materials through the tool crib.
  • Complete labor tickets/data collection in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Complete performance evaluations, training, and corrective/disciplinary actions as necessary.
  • Possess tools of the trade.

Qualifications

  • 5 years of experience OR Journeyman Tool & Die Certificate with 4 years of apprenticeship
  • Proficient in CAD/CAM software and blueprint reading.
  • 3+ years of experience in a leadership role
  • Solid verbal and written communication skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of metal stamping and manufacturing processes

Education and Experience:
The minimum educational requirements listed below may be substituted by relevant experience, learned competencies and/or certifications obtained throughout one’s career.

  • SolidWorks, Mastercam and AutoCAD
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent

Work Environment/Physical Requirements:

  • Work is in a manufacturing setting with noise and some grinding dust.  Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and push/pull 100 to 2500 lbs. using die carts.
  • Must wear protective shoes, safety glasses, and shop coat and wear ear protection while working around loud noises.
