Job Description

The Human Resource Business Partner is responsible for implementing, maintaining, executing and monitoring human resources daily operational matters that best supports the HUB region e.g.Australia, New Zealand, Myanmar, Thailand, Vietnam, Philippines, Indonesia. The individual will be responsible for performance management, including recruitment and staffing; employee standards and practices; all the HR related administrative duties and total rewards, including pension and payroll administration. The successful candidate should have solid HR business partnering experience across the region.


  • Accountable for onsite and day-to-day HR management in the HUB.

  • Execute a human resources plan that will enable the organization to achieve its objectives and contribute to the broader HR agenda·

  • Benchmarking compensation and benefits with the market to support salary review proposals that ensure market competitiveness and factors in employee preferences.

  • Managing the Performance Review process, and facilitating an objective and fair assessment based on open communication between appraisers and their team members

  • Leading employee communication initiatives that translate corporate values in the local context and enhance employee commitment

  • Build a culture that inculcates a greater Malaysia team to achieve and exceed the commitments

  • Accountable for providing comprehensive human resources programs to support the Company’s major initiatives

  • Provide best practice human resources support, within and across the region on specific initiatives and as part of the regional/global HR team

  • Build credible, collaborative and effective working relationships with stakeholders at all levels (internally & externally) to ensure optimal results delivery

  • Ensure consistent, timely and accurate application and compliance with all applicable laws and regulations and company’s policies and practices. Advice, recommend, develop and implement effective policies and procedures, which support achievement of company goals in a manner consistent with the company’s values and good human resources principles. Partner as needed for solutions based on business needs.

  • Participate in disciplinary procedures review to insure compliance with applicable laws

  • and company policies and procedures. Counsel and coach employees and managers/supervisors on corrective action.

  • Working with an assigned client group, assess and monitor employee engagement and implement appropriate action plans to address identified needs.

  • As an employee advocate, ensure employees’ needs, concerns, questions and/or complaints are addressed and balanced with the needs of the business.

  • To handle all other ad hoc HR related matters as and when required.


As a HR Business Partner, you must be able to work as part of a team, while managing projects independently with minimal supervision and in a timely manner. As Nielsen is a fast-paced environment, you will need to be agile with your work, managing ad hoc requests, and global processes. Time management and prioritization are important.   • At least a Bachelor's degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration or equivalent

  • Must possess at least 10 years’ experience as HR generalist

  • Past working experience in a matrix organizations will help to succeed in the role

  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills

  • Ability to interact with all levels of the organization

  • Strong formal and informal leadership attributes

  • Good business acumen and able to work under pressure

  • Project management and / or process improvement skills a plus

  • Candidate with regional experience will be an added advantage

  • Experienced / knowledge in SAP will be an added advantage
