Gracenote, a Nielsen company, is the world's leading entertainment metadata provider, powering content discovery and user experiences for the world's largest broadcasters, streaming services, pay TV operators, consumer electronics manufacturers and technology platforms.
Every day, billions of searches, recommendations and viewing experiences are powered by Gracenote's metadata, IDs and content intelligence. We're looking for an experienced Senior Business Development Representative to lead our commercial growth across Germany and surrounding markets.
The Opportunity
This is a high-impact, strategic sales role responsible for growing Gracenote's business across Germany, one of the most important media markets in Europe.
You will own the regional commercial strategy, developing long-term partnerships with broadcasters, streaming services, pay TV operators, content owners and media technology companies. You will identify new opportunities, expand existing customer relationships and help shape how German media companies leverage metadata and content intelligence to improve discovery, engagement and business outcomes.
Success in this role requires someone who understands the German media ecosystem, has credibility with senior decision makers, and brings a strong network of relationships across broadcasters, streamers, content distributors and technology providers.
Key Responsibilities
Drive Commercial Growth
Own and execute the commercial strategy across Germany and surrounding territories.
Deliver revenue growth through new customer acquisition and expansion of existing strategic accounts.
Develop multi-year account strategies that position Gracenote as a trusted long-term partner.
Identify whitespace opportunities across broadcasters, streaming platforms, content owners, FAST services and technology partners.
Build and maintain a robust sales pipeline while consistently achieving revenue targets.
Become the Trusted Industry Partner
Build executive-level relationships across Germany's media landscape.
Understand customer challenges and translate them into commercial opportunities using Gracenote's metadata, content intelligence and data solutions.
Lead complex consultative sales engagements involving multiple business and technical stakeholders.
Negotiate commercial agreements and manage opportunities through to successful delivery.
Market Leadership
Become Gracenote's subject matter expert for the German media market.
Maintain deep knowledge of broadcast, streaming, Pay TV, FAST, OTT and content distribution trends.
Monitor competitive activity and identify emerging opportunities across the entertainment ecosystem.
Represent Gracenote at industry events, conferences and customer forums.
Qualifications
What We're Looking For
Essential Experience
8+ years of successful enterprise B2B sales experience within the media, entertainment or technology industries.
Extensive knowledge of the German broadcast, streaming and content distribution market.
Strong understanding of entertainment metadata, content discovery, content supply chains and media data solutions.
Proven experience selling complex SaaS, data, technology or licensing solutions into enterprise customers.
Established network of senior contacts across German broadcasters, streaming services, Pay TV operators, content owners and media technology companies.
Demonstrated success managing complex consultative sales cycles with multiple executive stakeholders.
Experience developing strategic account plans and delivering sustained revenue growth.
Excellent commercial negotiation and executive presentation skills.
Native German speaker with fluent written and spoken English.
Highly Desirable
Experience working with metadata, content identifiers, recommendation technologies or content intelligence platforms.
Strong understanding of video distribution technologies, OTT workflows and digital content ecosystems.
Experience working with organisations such as public broadcasters, commercial broadcasters, streaming platforms, Pay TV operators, studios or major content distributors.
Experience with Salesforce CRM and modern enterprise sales methodologies.
Additional Information
For employees outside India and United States: Willingness to serve as a local internal subsidiary director to represent the entity in country, with full support from corporate teams, in governance matters.
