Job Description

The graphic design intern position is a 3-month, part-time role with approximately 25 hours per week up to 29 hours weekly. This person will work with our growing creative team and is someone with strong design sensibilities. The design intern is an artist who is nimble and passionate about producing high-quality designs in a fun and fast-paced environment. This role is responsible for visual conceptualization and design execution of client work. Candidates must be versatile in their ability to design across varying client portfolios and mediums including print, digital, packaging, social, email, light production, and more.  

Responsibilities:   

  •   Ideate and execute independently and collaboratively with other creative team members.  
  • Learn to present and articulate your ideas as they relate to the conceptual directions.    
  • Work with Motion’s department groups including creative, production, client services, PR, social, and content to create high-caliber, original, and on-brand content.  
  • Use design software to concept, prototype and develop engaging design solutions for a variety of marketing communications projects within the agency.   
  • Learn and grow with the team, absorb feedback as an opportunity to learn, and adjust work accordingly.  
  • Operate with a positive mindset and operate as a collaborative team player.  
  • Carry out assigned work in a well-organized manner, with attention to detail, flexibility, and a solution-focused approach; a problem-solver able to work both independently and collaboratively and remain calm under pressure.  
  • Research and stay current with trends and developments in design, social media, technology, and industry news.  

Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree in graphic communications, animation, marketing, advertising, or a relevant field; or someone in the 3rd or 4th year of their program.  
  • Proficient with Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop. 
  • A strong appetite for learning and a commitment to integrating feedback for improvement. 
  • High creative standards and great visual storytelling ability.  
  • Collaborative and positive approach upholding Motion’s core values.  
  • A go-getter with an entrepreneurial spirit.  
  • Video, motion graphics, and After Effects capabilities are a bonus.
