Hotel Mission de Oro is an inviting, Spanish mission-style hotel in Santa Nella at the junction of I-5 and Highway 33. We offer spacious rooms, 17,000 sq. feet of conference space, dining and banquet options at our restaurant, The Kitchen at the Mission, and relaxation and sporting events at The Mission Lounge. 

Job Description

We are interested in meeting a social media expert, who is available 18-22 hours per week. There is the possibility of the job being made permenamt full time in the near future. Our initial commitment would be for 6 months. 

Your mission will be to raise the public profile of Hotel Mission de Oro, The Kitchen at the Mission, and The Mission Lounge through planned events and social media. 

Specific activities to include: 

The Kitchen at The Mission

  • Social Media - FB, Instagram, Google Business Accounts, Yelp
  • Ensure daily posts are going out, be it photos, videos, statements, etc.
  • Respond to all messages across all social media platforms
  • Social Media Videos
  • Daily 30 second video or picture slideshow post to FB – chef cooking food, other staff preparing food, chef instructional video, etc.
  • Weekly – longer chef instructional video – this could be on anything, not just a menu item. How to prepare something, how to properly use knives, how to properly store food items, tips for making appetizers for events, etc.

 
Hotel

  • Social Media - FB, Instagram, Google Business Accounts, Yelp
  • Ensure daily posts are going out, be it photos, videos, statements, etc.
  • Respond to all messages across all social media platforms
  •  Guest Happy Hour in Lobby - assist
  • Set-up and monitor happy hour on days working. If not working Dana will manage as usual.
  • Post on social media
  • Guest Testimonials and Feedback
  • Talk to guests walking around the hotel or eating at the restaurant, or during hotel lobby happy hour. Obtain guest testimonials to use and record feedback.

 
Mission Lounge

  • Social Media – daily post on social media(hotels or create a FB for bar) re weekend events or other applicable features (happy hour, special drinks made by one of our bartenders, etc.)
  • Assist with misc. and as needed marketing tasks

Miscellaneous marketing events

  • coordinate event launches and all marketing tasks associated with them
  • coordinate with hotel staff
  • perform research as it relates to marketing needs
  • minor website updates (at some point in time)
  • update hotel LED signs with new images or adjust brightness when needed

Qualifications

  1. Must be 21 years or older. 
  2. Available to work 5 days a week with a semi-flexible daily and hourly schedule.
  3. Computer skills: Real experience with MS Excel, Word
  4. Extremely comfortable with social media: Facebook, Instagram, Yelp, Google Business, etc. 
  5. English fluency
