Job Description

The primary responsibility will be to help drive an aggressive drilling program in the DJ Basin as well as other basins as we acquire them. The role will be responsible for: Creating and maintaining the leasehold geo database, providing detailed maps to the production and new ventures groups, and documenting and standardizing data management.

  • Producing maps from, aerial photos, internet research, in-house data, and acquisition of data from various sources for presentations, geological displays, and lease/contract analysis.
  • Provide detailed, quality, and error-free documentation and maps for use in petroleum exploration.
  • Convert CAD drawing files from survey contractors into GIS files suitable for mapping and analysis.
  • Work with geologists, geophysicists, and landmen for map displays.
  • Assist in data updates and dispersion to other departments and entities such as AR, Geophysical Group, and the corporate GIS (SDE).
  • Be instrumental in meeting corporate drilling and production goals.
  • Documenting and standardizing data management workflow processes and data attributes.

Qualifications

  • Candidate should have experience with drafting/mapping using ESRI Desktop products, AutoCad, ArcInfo, ArcSDE, Python and ModelBuilder software, IHS Petra, ArcServer, ArcSDE, BOLO software and other GIS applications.
  • Three years of experience as a GIS Technician or in a similar technical role.
  • Ability to read and translate legal descriptions.
  • Ability to research, find, analyze, and use various types of data sources from maps, geological surveys, and online resources.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States on a regular full-time basis without restrictions.
