Job Description


We have an immediate opening for a Community Manager/Social Media Specialist. Part of our practice is turnkey enterprise-grade social and content marketing.  To be the best at this, we need a social media practitioner with a creative edge that can speak for brands, direct and grow communities, and drive engagement and behavior.  Our ideal candidate should be obsessed with content marketing--why content is important, how it finds audiences, and the impact it can have. Another important trait is the ability to speak the language of business: numbers.  we have to demonstrate the performance of our activities, and our candidate understands how to do this.

Key Areas of Responsibility:

Community Management

  • Cultivate new communities and manage branded online content on behalf of client’s using Facebook, Twitter, Google +, Pinterest, forums and other emerging platforms
  • Creatively and proactively assist those who engage with us via social channels
  • Monitor online conversations and participate in them to build brand visibility and thought leadership
  • Create and curate (a lot of) content that is compelling and has pass-along value
  • Write engaging content and online responses in the voice of client brands, leveraging client subject matter experts
  • Traffic, tag, author, coordinate a stream of blog posts, articles, podcasts, videos and webinars
  • Have an appetite to surf constantly and cull related content for clients from an internet’s worth of content

Measurement, Analysis and Continuous Improvement

  • Identify and analyze issues, patterns and trends in customer content consumption

Proactive Engagement

  • Identify & engage influencers and advocates
  • Proactively escalate issues, observations, opportunities, and insights to the executive team
  • Understand basics of SEO and SEM and how it pertains to social media and a company’s brand

Best Practices and Tools

  • Stay up to date on new social media tools, best practices and how other organizations and companies are using them, so that the company can continue to be an early adopter of these technologies
  • Participate in professional networking by interacting with peers and influencers & attending events
  • Research internet trends, analytics, site features and best practices 

Qualifications

  • No recruiters, please
  • US citizens or green card holders only
  • Minimum of a Bachelors degree
  • 2 years of social media and digital work experience
  • Expert knowledge of social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Pinterest, Slideshare, blogs, etc.), digital trends and online influencers
  • Strong writing skills.  Very strong.
  • Analytics experience and facility with numbers and spreadsheets
