About the Role:

Job Summary

AFTD operates within the Microsoft ecosystem – including organization wide use of Microsoft Teams. We have defined Salesforce as the single source of truth for proactively managing and tracking community engagement. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the Director of IT will provide support and guidance for the full range of AFTD IT efforts, including but not limited to ensuring a more robust and integrated  technical infrastructure,  determining business requirements for all AFTD IT and data systems, fostering effective project management and collaboration, eliminating manual data entry and other manual tasks wherever possible,  eliminating security risks, and working closely with a managed service provider to support IT help desk requests. This role will partner with AFTD department leadership and staff across the organization to determine ways to meet strategic objectives by modifying existing or developing new information processing systems.

FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Essential Job Functions

  • Responsible for all aspects of IT operations, including data architecture/integrity, on-premises infrastructure, cloud-based systems, and information security.
  • Work with Executive Leadership Team, Board of Directors, Advisors, and/or Consultants to develop strategic roadmaps and tactical solutions for all key systems.
  • Continually assess and improve technology and process tools to securely drive productivity, collaborative project management, and efficient organization-wide communication in a hybrid working environment.
  • Oversee cybersecurity protections.
  • Ensure data integrity and proactively drive end user reliance on Salesforce as the organization’s single source of truth.
  • Ensure that AFTD’s IT systems (including Salesforce and others) are configured to maximize the organization’s customer service and engagement culture – maintaining accountability and helping to measure impact for the ways in which we directly support and empower tens of thousands across our community each year.
  • Implement business intelligence and modern data warehousing concepts; increase usage of metrics/analytics data in each department via implementation and use of dashboards. 
  • Ensure staff have the technology tools and training needed to perform their duties efficiently and in a collaborative manner, both on- and off-site.
  • Build redundancies by implementing a Subject Matter Expert program for relevant software platforms and disciplines.
  • Develop and lead a high-performing team to ensure reliable delivery of IT services and operations.
  •  Develop, manage, and track Departmental budget for IT.
  • Key contact for company's technology vendors, including outsourced managed services providers and consultants.

Other Job Functions

  • Support the effective tracking and reporting of organization-wide metrics, in collaboration with COO, Director of Finance and the Executive Team
  • Is dedicated to providing organization or enterprise-wide common systems for designing and measuring work processes
  • Conscientiously follow company policies and practices and takes care of organizational property.
  • Travel for organizational meetings and events as needed.
  •  Other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position has supervisory responsibilities for the following role:

  •    Database Analyst

Qualifications

Knowledge, skills and abilities required for this role:

  • Bachelor's degree required, MBA a plus
  • Salesforce and Microsoft Cloud Certifications a plus, not required
  • 10+ years of experience in Information Technology and systems, with 5 years in leadership
  • 5+ years Project Management
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure and 365
  • Experience with Salesforce, or CRM technology
  • Experience developing and presenting strategic plans and budgets to executive leadership
  • Experience in managing outsourced vendors and consultants to fill skill gaps or project-based work delivery
  • Experience working with Stakeholders, Business Analysts, Project Managers, Vendors, and Technology teams
