Job Description

About the role:

Working in close collaboration with the Director of Marketing & Communications and other staff, the Marketing Automation Manager is the lead for AFTD’s work to drive community engagement through its Salesforce and Salesforce Marketing Cloud platforms. The Marketing Automation Manager will lead planning and development of all AFTD Marketing Cloud journeys and campaigns and will also analyze metrics and identify trends to position AFTD for maximum impact and engagement. They will use web analytics tools and other platforms to better optimize marketing campaigns, and refine Marketing Cloud Journeys based on monthly, quarterly, and annual results. Working closely with advancement team leads and other department leads, they will identify points for deeper 1:1 engagement for the people we serve and assist in evaluating the links between our marketing efforts and the organization’s overall engagement, sustainability, and impact.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Analysis and Reporting: Use digital analytics, with a continuous test, learn, and improve mindset, to proactively build campaigns and reports. Visually represent data in a way that generates actionable insights. Make appropriate recommendations for AFTD’s digital marketing plan and make ongoing tactical platform changes based on client activity/journey experience.
  • Managing Marketing Cloud Strategy: Help develop and manage AFTD’s marketing strategies to target local communities across the United States, as well as a growing global audience. Responsible for AFTD’s Marketing Cloud administration, effectively engaging all segments of our audience, including FTD-unaware members of the public, families facing a new diagnosis and established donors and volunteers. Ensure a positive mobile and tablet experience for a growing share of AFTD’s digital audience. Coordinate with the Social Media and Online Communications Manager to ensure alignment of web and social media content.
  •  Managing Digital Advertising: Creating, implementing, and monitoring Google Ads, and informing social ad campaign building and optimization. P
  •  Inform Website design to support marketing campaign objectives, increase conversions, and achieve other key targeted outcomes. Experience with Form Assembly and WordPress a plus.

Other Job Functions:

  • Modify website and website forms as needed to maximize engagement.
  •  Conscientiously follow company policies and practices and care for company property.
  • Travel for organizational meetings and events as needed.
  •  Other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
• This position is an individual contributor and does not have supervisory responsibilities.

Qualifications

Knowledge, skills and abilities required for this role:

* Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required; relevant advanced degree   preferred
• Relevant technical certifications (Google Analytics, Google Ads, Facebook and/or   equivalents) will be considered
• 3+ years of progressive marketing automation experience – including marketing   automation leadership –
 is required. For this position, we have a strong preference for at least 1 year of   experience with Marketing Cloud. While not preferred, comparable experience with   marketing automation platform leadership will be considered.
• Excellent verbal communication and writing skills
• Demonstrated effective collaboration with senior leadership in relevant areas (including analytics, strategy, creative collaborations).
• Demonstrated experience in external multi-stakeholder engagement
• Strong technical proficiency, including proficiency in Salesforce, Salesforce Marketing   Cloud, Google Analytics, WordPress,
• Demonstrated experience planning and producing creative for multiple campaigns, with   campaigns focused on rare disease, healthcare consumers or vulnerable populations a   plus
• 2-5 years of management experience preferred
• Fluency in spoken and written English
• Fluency in written Spanish a plus
• Demonstrated awareness of and/or experience with outreach to diverse populations.
• Demonstrated experience shaping and fulfilling marketing plans
• Strong writing and editing skills required
• Strong brand compliance experience preferred
• Demonstrated expertise with using digital analytics to plan and drive inbound and/or outbound marketing strategies
• Excellent organizational skills and time management; the ability to manage several   concurrent projects with a results-oriented attitude
• Ability to approach work with a professional, warm manner; to be a flexible team player   and exhibit a willingness to take on new challenges


Additional information:
AFTD’s office is King of Prussia, PA-based. Preference will be given to candidates who will be within commutable distance to King of Prussia for up to 3 days a week in office, for hybrid work. Top candidates who are not within commutable distance of King of Prussia’s office will also be considered, for the potential to fill this position remotely.
